Chiikawa Shinkansen 2026: Reported Gifts and How to Check

A June 11, 2026 TRAICY report describes a JR Central collaboration between the Tokaido Shinkansen and the Chiikawa film, running from July 8 to October 31, 2026. It reports onboard AR photo frames, boarding proof and gifts collected at designated locations. Here is what the report says and what to check before buying a train ticket for the campaign.
Reviewed October 10, 2026. Campaign dates, gift phases and redemption hours below are attributed to the June report. We have not independently confirmed the campaign-specific current terms or remaining stock. The cover is an illustration, not a photograph of campaign goods or a branded train.
Reported gifts: stickers first, then a mini tote
According to TRAICY, passengers access the campaign website from the Tokaido Shinkansen and answer a questionnaire to obtain four types of AR photo frame and boarding proof. Presenting that proof at a designated location is the reported route to the physical gift.
| Reported period | Reported redemption gift |
|---|---|
| July 8–August 31, 2026 | Set of four original die-cut stickers |
| September 1–October 31, 2026 | Original mini tote bag |
October falls within the reported mini-tote phase. This does not confirm that gifts are available today. Check the campaign's current instructions, redemption deadline and stock conditions before making a special journey.
Where the June report says to redeem boarding proof
| Reported location | Reported redemption hours (Japan time) |
|---|---|
| Chiikawa Land TOKYO Station, Tokyo Station | 10:00–19:00 |
| SCMAGLEV and Railway Park, Nagoya | 10:00–17:30 |
| Magical Chiikawa Store, Umeda HEP FIVE, Osaka | 11:00–20:00 |
These are the report's redemption hours, not a live opening-hours check. Confirm current venue access, closures, any admission requirements and campaign exchange rules. Umeda is separate from Shin-Osaka station, and the Nagoya museum requires onward travel from the Shinkansen station. Allow time for that journey rather than expecting to collect a gift on the train.
Check JR Central's campaign terms before riding
The official OshiTabi portal is the starting point for campaign notices. Our review did not identify a usable direct primary page for this specific collaboration. If you cannot confirm its current campaign page and terms, do not buy a ticket solely on the expectation of receiving a gift.
JR Central's general OshiTabi FAQ explains the usual onboard system. Individual campaigns can set different conditions:
- Use your own smartphone or supported communication device. Each participant normally needs their own account, questionnaire response and boarding proof; one person's account does not automatically cover a whole group.
- Onboard detection uses location information and movement on the Tokaido Shinkansen between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. The Sanyo or Kyushu section alone is outside the general onboard service area.
- On a through train, use the service while it is travelling within the Tokaido section and meets the detection conditions. A train continuing beyond Shin-Osaka does not make every part of the journey eligible.
- Very short sections such as Tokyo–Shin-Yokohama, tunnels or poor connectivity can prevent verification. Buying a short ticket does not guarantee successful detection.
Confirm supported devices, language, any age restrictions, accepted tickets and the exact proof-redemption procedure in the specific campaign terms. The general FAQ does not establish this collaboration's rules for every ticket product or JR Pass holder.
A practical participation checklist
- Find the current official campaign notice and confirm that your travel date and chosen gift exchange date qualify.
- Read its account, device, ticket and language requirements. Plan redemption around the location's confirmed access and hours.
- Follow the campaign instructions while the train is travelling on an eligible Tokaido section. Permit the required browser location functions and allow time for detection.
- Complete the required questionnaire and keep the boarding proof as instructed. Do not assume a train ticket or reservation email replaces campaign proof.
- Present the proof at the specified exchange point under the current rules. The June report describes collection in person; it does not establish a home-delivery service.
For location or browser problems, refer to the official general FAQ. If verification fails, a ticket purchase alone does not prove successful campaign participation.
The KITTE Osaka lottery is a separate promotion
The June report also describes a giant Chiikawa balloon at KITTE Osaka and an X photo-post lottery with a total of 480 original pass cases. That lottery is separate from the onboard boarding-proof gift. A pass case is not the reported reward for every questionnaire response, and an X post is not a substitute for onboard verification.
Plan the train journey separately
The Shinagawa station guide explains gates and boarding checks. If using a pass, read the Japan Rail Pass price and coverage guide and the pass issuer's conditions. Buying transport and qualifying for a promotional gift are separate steps.
Frequently Asked Questions
What dates were reported for the Chiikawa Shinkansen campaign?
TRAICY's June 11 report gives July 8–October 31, 2026. Confirm the current campaign-specific official notice before making plans; this review has not independently confirmed current operation or stock.
What are the reported physical gifts?
The report lists four die-cut stickers for July 8–August 31 and a mini tote for September 1–October 31. The gift requires the reported boarding-proof exchange process and is not confirmed available today.
Where were gift exchanges reported?
The June report names Chiikawa Land TOKYO Station, SCMAGLEV and Railway Park in Nagoya, and Magical Chiikawa Store at Umeda HEP FIVE. Check current hours, access and campaign exchange rules before travelling.
Can one account obtain gifts for the whole family?
JR Central's general OshiTabi FAQ says each participant needs their own account, questionnaire response and boarding proof. Check this campaign's specific participant and age conditions rather than assuming one account covers companions.
Can I participate only between Shin-Osaka and Hakata?
The general onboard service is for the Tokaido Shinkansen section between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. A Sanyo-only journey is outside that service area; through passengers must meet the conditions while on the Tokaido section.
Does a short Tokyo–Shin-Yokohama ride guarantee boarding proof?
No. The general FAQ warns that speed detection may fail on short sections such as Tokyo–Shin-Yokohama or where connectivity is unstable. Follow the specific campaign's verification instructions.
Is participation guaranteed with a JR Pass or in English?
We have not verified campaign-specific JR Pass eligibility or an English questionnaire. Check the current campaign terms and supported languages. General OshiTabi guidance is not confirmation for every product.
Are pass cases or mailed gifts included for every participant?
The reported pass cases belong to a separate KITTE Osaka X lottery. The onboard campaign is described as in-person exchange of boarding proof for the relevant gift; the report does not establish a home-delivery service.
