Settaya Shu*Kura is announced to run between Echigo-Yuzawa and Nagaoka on November 7 and 8, 2026. The special rapid train uses Koshino Shu*Kura rolling stock, with a stop at Miyauchi for the historic Settaya brewing district. All seats are reserved, but an ordinary Car 3 reservation and a Car 1 packaged tour are different products.

November 7-8 route and timetable
The announcement gives the following round-trip schedule for both operating dates, in local Japan time. Miyauchi is the access stop for Settaya, about 10 minutes on foot from the station. Allow time for your chosen visit and return train.

This is the dated special-train schedule, rather than a year-round timetable. Check operator updates before departure. The general Koshino Shu*Kura portal describes the train family; the November 7-8 schedule comes from the special announcement.
Car 3 tickets and Car 1 tours
- Car 3: ordinary reserved-seat tickets. The announcement says they go on sale one month before the operating date at 10:00 through Eki-net, reserved-seat ticket machines and Midori-no-Madoguchi ticket offices. Confirm the base fare, seat ticket and any pass conditions with the seller.
- Car 1: travel products sold by JR East View Tourism & Sales. The two listed one-night, two-day tours depart on November 7 and include their own itineraries and conditions.
The announcement does not offer a general non-reserved option or establish other-car seat sales. Do not assume that buying an ordinary Car 3 seat includes a tour's lodging, meals, sightseeing or take-home sake.

The official tour listing, labeled October 11, 2026 at 00:00, showed B3092 at ¥57,800 for eligible Otona no Kyujitsu Club members and ¥58,800 for general customers. B3093 showed ¥54,800-¥58,800 for eligible members and ¥55,800-¥59,800 for general customers. These are dated listing references with room and membership conditions, not final prices for every traveler.
The detail pages describe a ¥1,000-per-person online-booking discount for eligible bookings. Check how it applies to your selected quote rather than automatically subtracting it from the listing. Room choice, departure station, eligibility and booking conditions matter. The listing marked the November 7 departures as confirmed when checked, but that is not a continuing guarantee of remaining inventory.
The tour's included bottle of original Shu*Kura daiginjo is supplied on the Nagaoka-to-Echigo-Yuzawa leg. The organizer also says seats on the sightseeing train may be shared and cannot be selected. Check the full itinerary and terms before purchasing.
Onboard programme and visiting Settaya
The August announcement describes free tastings of two premium local sakes and a Jubun-hai activity developed with local students. The current tour detail pages place the two special onboard activities on the Echigo-Yuzawa-to-Miyauchi section. These announcements do not mean every Car 3 traveler receives all meals or benefits included in Car 1 travel products.
KuraCards are distributed at breweries in the Settaya and Miyauchi area, according to the notice. They are not described as an onboard distribution. Visit the relevant breweries for their conditions and do not assume stock is guaranteed.
You can plan an independent visit to Settaya without buying a Car 1 tour. Miyauchi's approximate 10-minute walk to the district does not confirm each brewery's opening hours, tasting availability or guided-tour access. Check each venue separately and arrange your own transport and visit conditions.
Traveling from Tokyo and choosing another Shu*Kura event
The announced tour itineraries use the Joetsu Shinkansen between Tokyo and Echigo-Yuzawa or Nagaoka. Independent travelers should check the actual timetable, fare and connection margin for their travel date; the special train's 10:17 departure is not a promise that a particular Tokyo departure connects. Packaged tours include the rail segments specified in their own itineraries.
